First Look: Windows 10 v1909

Availability

Windows 10 version 1909 business and consumer editions are now available in the Visual Studio Subscriptions

Installation

During the installation if you what to just have a local account in your Windows 10 1909, at the Sign in with Microsoft page, click on the Domain join instead option below it will prompt you to enter a specific user for the PC.

Go through the creation of user.

You’ll be asked to create 3 security questions.

I’ll skip the digital assistant for now… will click Decline…

Then will just Accept everything in the privacy page.

Some new features

Create an Event Directly from the Calendar

Unlike in Windows 1903 where the Calendar app will pop-up every time you try to add an event, in Windows 1909 you can now directly create an event from the calendar at your taskbar

Start Menu

In the Start Menu compared to Windows 10 1903, when you hover on the items such as Documents, Pictures, Settings and Power, it will auto expand and will show you the items that you are going to click.

Other features

  • Promises a less Distruptive Updates
  • Online Search in File Explorer
  • Enabled Voice Assistants on Lock Screen
  • Improvements on Notification Management
